Permanent Residence

The document certifying permanent residence for an EEA/Swiss national is issued once the applicant proves that they have spent five years of continuous residence in the UK. The applicant is also required to supply evidence that they are the qualifying person under the EU law.

The qualifying persons under the EU law provisions are students, workers, self-employed and self-employed persons.

The document certifying permanent residence is issued to the persons intending to retire after two years of continuous residence in the UK.
